The overall objective of PYM is to improve health of outcomes and welfare of the young mothers through enlightenment, coaching, training, counseling, engaging in developmental and productive activities.
Specific objectives
- To guard against pre and post- natal depression in young mothers
- To educate young mothers about every step of mother-hood and nurturing.
- To help young mothers who are disadvantaged yet need special attention and safe custody for their babies after delivery.
- To organize seminars, conferences, outdoor activities aimed at offering young mothers with financial literacy from reliable experts and authentic leaders aimed at equipping young mothers with unique skills.
- To build a formidable team that would aid in nurturing and shaping young mothers.
- To start up a SACCO which would aid mothers in saving and investing.
- To enhance team building activities hence realizing the natural skills that mothers have plus creating a united mother community with a strong bond.
- To work along with different hospitals to support new young mothers who need assistance.
- To provide maternity products to young mothers who aren’t able to afford.
- To empower young mothers with hands-on skills to be able to take care of themselves even when we are away.
- Establish partnerships with Ministry of health and other health institutions to support fistula camps, manage fibroids
- Counsel and prepare young mothers who lose, loss of jobs after maternity leave, depression after unplanned C-section, babies falling sick.
- Counsel and prepare young mothers before pregnancy to ensure they attend the recommended four antenatal visits.
- Counsel and prepare young mothers before pregnancy to ensure they remain free spirited and learn the different possible outcomes and decisions taken before, during and after child birth. This aims at managing depressions that occur due to loss of neonate, the gynecologist recommending emergency caesarian section procedure after the mother waiting and going through the labour pains.
